VideoGames & Computer Entertainment (December 1988)

VideoGames & Computer Entertainment (December 1988) | PeakD: While VideoGames & Computer Entertainment was never as popular as EGM or GamePro, it was my personal favorite video game magazine. Computer Shopper (October 2000)

Computer Shopper (October 2000): Computer Shopper was a phone book sized magazine that peaked in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Though it was perhaps best known for being an excellent resource for ordering computer systems or parts, it also had plenty of great content in the form of articles and reviews. The October 2000 issue includes:

Vintage Photos - Lot 3 (513-516) | PeakD

Vintage Photos - Lot 3 (513-516): This photo was taken in Miami. It looks like it was taken in a park looking towards the Columbus Hotel. This hotel had a restaurant at the top called Top of the Columbus that overlooked Miami and Biscayne Bay. This hotel was built in 1926 but demolished in 1988

TimeSplitters 2 (GameCube)

TimeSplitters 2 (GameCube): First Person Shooters have never really been my favorite genre of game. Yet some of the fondest gaming memories I have are of playing the couple of FPS games that I have played extensively. The first two were Doom and Doom 2 which I spent a lot of time playing between 1994 and 1998. Not so much for the single player story mode but for the death match play which was pretty novel at the time. The next FPS style games I played significantly were TimeSplitters. At the time, it seemed like these were forever after Doom 2 but it really wasn't THAT long. TimeSplitters was released in 2000 and TimeSplitters 2 was released in 2002.

Maximum PC (January 2006)

Maximum PC (January 2006) | PeakD: Maximum PC was my favorite PC magazine. It had a pretty long life with the first issue being published in September 1998 and the last print issue coming in April 2023. Unlike some magazines, it maintained a fairly consistent quality. It limped on another couple of years as a digital only magazine but the last issue in that form was published last month. Sadly, Maximum PC is officially, completely dead. The January 2006 issue includes:

Vintage Photos - Lot 3 (393-396): This photo shows a monument that Google Images identifies as the Monumento de Buena Amistad (Monument of Good Friendship) south of Actopan, Mexico which was built to commemorate the completion of the Pan-American Highway. Computer Video Games (December 1990)

Computer + Video Games (December 1990): Computer & Video Games had a few slight name variations over the years (Computer + Video Games here) but it was the longest continuously published video game magazine that I am aware of. It covered both consoles and computers though coverage seemed to be heavier on the computer side, particularly during the 80s (though I suppose there was more to cover). The December 1990 issue includes:

PC World (September 1985)
