Sen. Paul Declares Intent to Hold Vote on Pakistan Aid

This morning, Sen. Rand Paul sent a letter to Democrat Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) and Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), as well as President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Pakistani Ambassador Sherry Rehman, announcing that he has gained the necessary number of signatures on a cloture petition to force a vote on legislation regarding cutting aid to Pakistan. Pending the outcome of the appeal trial of Dr. Shakil Afridi, Sen. Paul is prepared to call for a vote on cutting aid to the Pakistani government as early as July 20.

What is amazing to me is that this country runs a $1 trillion plus deficit yet borrows money to give to other countries that taxpayers ultimately must repay. Why should a taxpayer in this country be FORCED to give money to the government of Pakistan or any other country? - http://788ba689.tinylinks.co
